Applegate Fire District #9 Reports the Following:

FIRE SEASON ENDS

Fire Season ends tomorrow, Oct 14, at 1:00 am on lands protected by the Oregon Department of Forestry.
The Fire Danger will be low and all fire restrictions will be removed.
Woody debris pile and barrel burning will be allowed on PDF-protected lands. However, open burning is regulated for air quality in all of Jackson County, and in the Rogue Basin Open Burn Control Area in Josephine County. Before you start to burn, call the open burning advisory number for your county.

To hear a daily updates on prescribed burning activity in the BLM Medford District or National Forest call  618-2354 or 800-267-3126.  You can also call the Medford Interagency Communication Center at 858-2340 to hear about burn projects in our area.

Burns reported on this page are compiled from two sources.  Applegate Fire Dist. 9 provides a report of burns on federal lands as reported by the Forest Service and Bureau of Land Management in the Applegate Valley area. This is taken from the daily Medford Tanker Base report.   The state's Smoke Management Office report of burns on private, county, and state lands will also appear on days when this office issues a report of burns planned on these lands.
